Event Details

In this ticket-only event Nottingham’s Design Manager, Peter Hemphill will discuss (and highlight during the school building tour) the key objectives for the Robin Hood School project which led to a partial new build and internal remodelling:

-        Consolidation - the school was split over two separate buildings

-        40% cost reduction for school build – budgets were tight

-        Improved sustainability

-        Life costs – removal of outdated products and materials with high life costs

Innovative and untraditional materials used in the design of the school were selected to protect future education budgets with minimal life costs in mind  (e.g. Use of agricultural corrugated exterior panelling).  The school has been designed to inspire and motivate with its clever use of space.  From the external treehouse to the bright and airy art room - this school is a must see!

David Wilcox - Architect for the project from Capita Symonds will be joining Peter Hemphill in leading the building tour and discussion.

Product Focus – Finger Protection for Doors

This event is hosted by Safehinge Ltd – who work with over 65 local authorities providing durable finger protection and life cost savings to new build and existing school facilities.

The school uses both integrated and retrofit finger protection ensuring that both the newbuild and the refurb sections of the project were able to achieve the same quality of safety and durability.
